Wigs today - especially those featured at Mane Door Salon, are virtually indistinguishable from your natural hair. They range from 100% human hair to synthetic fibers and with state of the art construction, all of them have a very realistic appearance. Gone are the days of the “bulky wig” look, and instead, technology has allowed wigs to be made of much thinner synthetic fibers that closely resemble human hair.
With a wide selection of colors, all our wigs have the multi-tonal shades that are requested in today’s top salons.

We have a wide range of salon-inspired colors to choose from, so we’ll easily be able to find the best shade for you.
If you want to match your hair as close as possible and hair-loss is a possibility in the future, make sure you save a swatch of your own hair for a match.
It’s recommended that you choose a shade as close a possible to your natural color, or slightly lighter.
We have a wide range of looks to choose from, with short, straight, long, curly or wavy. There are also many styles from traditional, trendy, sporty, sophisticated, casual contemporary, or business to pure glamor.
You can choose a style that is close to what you usually wear, or be completely adventurous and experiment with the look you’ve always wanted! Whichever you select, with over 30 years of experience we understand which styles suit which face shapes and will help and advise you to select the look that compliments you the best.

Whether you need a wig for medical reasons, or you’re joining the ranks of today’s fashion conscious women who are using wigs, extensions or various clip-ins to create new looks, this is the page that will explain everything you want to know about the latest accessory that is sweeping the fashion world - Wigs as accessory!
Can People Tell I’m Wearing A Wig?
How Do I Choose Between A Human Hair Or Synthetic Fiber Wig?
There are pros for both and it really depends your personal needs.
With human hair wigs, the style itself is not locked into the fibers, so they can be styled just like your own hair with thermal styling tools, giving you the option of straight hair one day, and curly hair the next.
With synthetic fiber wigs, the style is literally baked into the fibers, so you never have to worry out styling your hairdo again. Simply put the wig on and off you go with another perfect hair day. (Avoid using thermal styling tools on synthetic fiber wigs! - Except for the revolutionary Tru2Life™ fiber which can take heat up to 300o!)
Isn’t Wearing A Wig Hot And Uncomfortable?
In the 1960s wigs were made with solid caps that definitely made this true! In the 1970s the Capless® wig was invented consisting of lengths of fibers called wefts. These are sewn into cotton or lace stretch bands, which shape to the head and allow air to circulate around the scalp.
Today, however, the Raquel Welch™ Signature Collection uses a new patented formula called the Raquel Welch Memory Cap®, which replaces this wide stretch lace, with a thinner, more resilient stretch material that actually molds to the shape of your head, giving you a lighter, more secure fit. All Raquel Welch™ wigs, except the 100% hand-tied wigs, use this new technology.
What If My Wig Comes Off?
A wig that is fitted to your head, properly, is essential to security. A proper fit prevents your wig from slipping off. Wigs come in different sizes, with the Raquel Welch™ wigs sized from petite, to large sizes. A professional, personalized, wig fitting is always complimentary at Mane Door Salon.
Raquel Welch™ wigs come with Velcro® adjustors on the back rim of the wig, which can be tightened or loosened for a proper fit. The Memory Cap® also makes your wig more secure. Ear tabs at the temples and extensions at the nape gently shape to your head, making sure you wig is centered and secure.

Aren’t Wigs Expensive?
Like any accessory, price depends on the material and the craftsmanship involved. Wigs can cost as little as $50 and more than $700.
If it’s for medical purposes you might find your insurance company will allow you to claim your wig. Ask your doctor to write a prescription for a “hair prosthesis” and we’ll be happy to give you a Bill of Sale to submit. (Nancee herself knows what you’re going through.) You may also want to do this at tax time.
